Decoration - Paint
Written by richart khalil

Paint is the cheapest, easiest way to transform your interior spaces instantly. With modern transformations it even became easier to apply while providing coverage and adhesion. In respect to the undercoating and priming while following the manufacturer’s recommendation, you can paint almost any surface, from plaster to wood, from metal work to tile.

Nowadays standard paints fall into two categories: emulsion paints – it covers well, dries quickly but do not long-last – and oil-based paints – including metal paints, gloss and eggshell which are more durable and easier to wipe clean.

We can also find in the market specialist paints – made according to traditional recipes as well designed to stimulate a specific texture – and traditional paints – which needs careful handling following to particular requirements – and finally it is also possible to buy eco paints made from bio-degradable ingredients.

Manufacturers, now, provide an incredible wide range of colors and wide variety of finishes from matt through to gloss. But you must keep in mind that some colors have a tendency to ‘mount up’, or appear stronger and more intense over large area than they do on paint charts or sample cards. So it becomes recommended to do a sample pot in each of your chosen colors, in different locations – on walls directing light and those that do not.

As a methodology of applying paint, it is recommended to begin with the ceiling, working away from the main source of natural light. Then paint the walls, in vertical sections from top to bottom. Doors, window frames and skirting boards come last.
